Synopsis:
This drama is a complex series as it depicts the human spirit in times of trials and turmoil, particularly during war.
First and foremost, it focuses on the struggles of Yi Soon Shin, who experienced different forms of difficulties and how these forged him to be a true leader and a man of virtue among his peers. It also portrays him as Joseon’s most resourceful military naval leader when he saves the country by winning all 23 battles of the naval army during the Hideyoshi Invasion.
Secondly, the series also describes how human nature can change in the most difficult of circumstances. Hence, it shows the viewers how human beings from different walks of life can behave into wretches during war. Thus, imparting a message that peace is an essential part of life.
